Listing In The Rental Market

For many Owners, renting your home can be a viable option in lieu of selling.  This gives owners the option of moving back in if they have to be away for an extended period of time or if the selling market is down, waiting until they are able to achieve a higher value for the sale of their home.  But when considering the option of renting your home, always consider the following advantages of using an agent to list and professionally manage your property:

  • A GRE Agent who is listing your home will first advise you on price by searching comparative rentals in your area. This is one of the most important factors in determining whether renting your home is a viable option.
  • Ensuring that your home is clean with neutral colors is very important.  Once your home is placed on the market for rent, your agent will advertise and market your home for rent under your specified terms.
  • Once an application is received, your agent will thoroughly process the application by verifying employment, paycheck stubs, W2 information, past rental history and credit report.  The final decision on who is accepted as the Tenant is your decision.
  • The lease is then prepared by your agent, signed by all parties and a walk through with the client is done prior to move-in.
