Kedric Golston, Defensive End for the Washington Redskins, and his wife Christal, the founders of Golston Real Estate, are passionate about giving. In addition to supporting their local community, they are also Directors of a nonprofit organization called Every Child Fed – an organization committed to treating children in Sub-Saharan Africa suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
In the 1990’s, Dr. Mark Manary, Founder of Project Peanut Butter, pioneered a revolutionary way to treat children suffering from SAM using a peanut based Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). In 2007, UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Program (WFP), and the UN System Standing Committee on Nutrition endorsed RUTF as the standard of treatment worldwide for severe acute malnutrition.
With the support of the Zambian government and the local NGO community, Every Child Fed (ECF) is partnering with Dr. Manary and Project Peanut Butter (PPB) to establish a full-scale manufacturing plant to produce RUTF locally in Zambia.
